I have multiple dynamic views modules that are not longer working, I updated to DV 4.0 and when a user log ins to the page they get the following error (from event viewer), If I logging as host then I have no problems with the module and it displays just fine.

  • HI Benjamin, that's very odd. Can you create a brand new Dynamic Views page with similar setting to the simplest Dynamic Views page that's not working and see if generating a brand new DV page will show anything? - ToNew 5/23/2014

  • I want to bump this up as I am getting this error also: A critical error has occurred. An unexpected error has occurred

As a user logged in with Admin privs, I can view it just fine, for a regular user who must be logged in I get the error.

This is for an intranet so users must be logged in. This is the last step I need and is something that just should not be happening. - Johll 9/25/2014

Error on dynamic views only for non admin users is here on this page. I just wan to tell you about all of those things which we need for essay lab reviews. To get all of these things we have something important which we take from here.

Was there any resolution to this?

4.0.0.27835 / 7.2.2

I am experiencing this exact same issue after upgrading to Dynamic Views 4.0.1.  The pages with the dynamic views modules on them display correctly when logged in as Host, but not when logged in as a standard user.

I created a new page and added a new dynamic view module.  I did not configure the module and checked the new page.  Same error, “A critical error has occurred. An unexpected error has occurred” and the module is not visible.

  • UPDATE:

This appears to only be an issue with pages where permission to view the page is set to "Registered Users" and there is a Dynamic View Module on the page. - Steve K 7/30/2014

  • UPDATE 2:

Set page permissions to "All Users", and could view the page/module just fine as an unauthenticated user. Logged in as a non admin user and the error gets thrown. So the page/module can be view correctly when not logged in or logged in as Host/Admin, but not when logged in as a non admin user.

Very strange behavior that I need a solution to, as the information that I want to display is for the logged in user. Without that ability, this module is useless to me. - Steve K 7/30/2014

  • HI Steve, is this the correct version you have?
    Version:
    4.10.1

I'm on this version with DNN 07.01.02 (356) and I'm not seeing this problem when I have a page set to Registered Users and a dynamic views module on it. Logging in with a registered user works just fine.

Is this a site that you could give us host access to so we can log in and debug? IF so, please contact us through email (dnnsupport@datasprings.com) and we can go from there.

  • Is there a fix for this?? We have exactly the same error since upgrading. - Michael Betts 8/12/2014
