Data Springs Modules Community Questions & Answers

Question for Dynamic View

Hi!

Hope you are doing great!

I am evaluating the Dynamic View product and have a couple questions.

The first one is related to the add action to a view, I was able to create the action and add SQL query to it, but after I clicked the button, the query’s not executed.

The query is very simple like this:

UPDATE  LeadAssignment

SET [Status] = 'Accepted'

WHERE Id = ‘$(Id)’

I was able to run it in SQL management studio, but clicking the button does not execute it.

The second one is about the data report template, I was trying to use Gridview, but the css  is very plain and it does not show the URL as plain text.  I’m not sure what name to use in the two text box.

What needs to be done to use a different css for gridview?

Thank you for your help in advance

Hello Zhou,

Thank you for your inquiry about Dynamic Views.

Please note that the only available tokens in the Action SQL Query section are:

$(PrimaryKey)
$(UserID)

The token you specified will not be recognized within this section of Dynamic Views. Under Module Configuration for the Dynamic View you’ll see that you can specify the primary key column out of all of the columns returned from your data source.

Whichever column you select as the Primary Key, is the column value that will be rendered with the $(PrimaryKey) token. So if you selected “ID” as your Primary key, then your query should look like this:

UPDATE LeadAssignment SET [Status] = 'Accepted' WHERE Id = '$(PrimaryKey)'

Please give this a shot and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Ryan
