Dynamic Login Trial Q & A

Question:  Are there any limitations within the trial version?

Answer: The only limitation is that the trial version is available for you to test for 20 days. There is also a note at the bottom of the login page indicating that this is a trial version.

Question:  Can Dynamic Login replace the current login functionality within DotNetNuke?

Answer: Yes, the login module can be installed and replace the standard DNN login features (optionally) without any changes to the DNN Core framework or any changes to the web.config file. You can configure which page / module represents your web sites login functionality by adjusting the login page setting under Admin, Site Settings.

Question:  I have tested the trial version and decided that it is just what I need.   Will I have to recreate my login module when I install the Standard or Enterprise package?

Answer:  No. If you are upgrading from the trial version you can simply install the module on top of the existing installation. Your login template, configuration,  and setup will all stay intact.

Question:  I really want to use the Dynamic Login module but I want you guys to install it. Do you guys handle installation and configuration?

Answer:  Yes, our team can handle your module implementation no matter how small or how large it is. You can review our Premium Support Hours and can contact us with any questions.

Question:  What are the requirements for Dynamic Login?

Answer:  Dynamic Login requires DotNetNuke® 4.5.x. or higher. Dynamic Login has been tested and does work with DNN 4.8.x, 4.9.x, and the new 5.0 version.  DotNetNuke® is an open source ASP.NET framework.   For more details on this framework please visit www.dotnetnuke.com.

About Dynamic Login

The content on your site isn’t vanilla, so why is your portal's login?

The user login page is used by every user registered in your portal, but yet once they sign in they go to the exact same page? Customize your portal with Dynamic Login to offer additional features and enhancements during the login process.

Whats New? Enhancements in V3.1

  • Display watermark for username and password fields (now you don't even have to include a label for username and password!). view example
  • Display background image for username and password fields - view example
  • Performance enhancements for control panel and login process for single sign on
  • Now supports DNN 5.01!

Whats New? Enhancements in V3.0

  • Administration Control Panel
  • Ability to block specific IP Addresses from logging in at all, including a description of why you blocked the IP Address.  When blocking an IP Address,  you can block the IP by portal or globally for all portals within the installation.
  • Content Localization -- Your Dynamic Login templates can now be customized per language so each language can look different!
  • Enhancements for integration with Dynamic Registration and DNN when forcing a user to change their password and/or forcing a user to update their profile.

Whats New? Enhancements in V2.2

  • Complete layout control - Now you can setup a custom template for your login page. This means that if you don't want to include the register link at all, or maybe the 'Remember Me' or 'Send Password Reminder' links you could simply remove them from the template. Or you could easily change the labels, or look of the fields. For example lets say you want put both the username textbox and password textbox on the same row?  Login to Data Springs to see an example.
  • With new login tokens you can also choose to use Login Image Buttons instead of links buttons for your login page.
  • New feature to allow the user to be able to sign in with their email address
  • New feature to allow the user to be able to sign in with their UserID (the number, seperate from the username)
  • New feature to automatically bypass the role and user redirection rules and redirect the user to the previous URL.
  • New Single Sign On (SSO) functionality. This new enhancement allows for other portals within the DNN installation to be able to access the portal if the SSO feature is turned on and the user enters the login credentials correctly for the 'Master Portal'. Additionally there is an optional  'Reverse SSO' feature to automatically add the user to the master portal if they are signing into the  portal and that user doesn't exist within the master portal. Questions? Review more details here.

Whats New? Enhancements in V2.0

  • Now add 'Dynamic Role Group Rules' to redirect the user to different pages based on any particular role groups they are part of (previously only support roles and not role groups)
  • Updated performance enhancements and changes to support 4.3.x, 4.4.x, 4.5.x, + versions of DotNetNuke

 Module Features

  • Add ‘Dynamic Role Rules’ to redirect the user to different pages on your site based on their roles in the portal
  • Setup default forwarding to default users to a particular page that’s not just the home page
  • Add notifications to the administrator if a particular user signs in
  • Add message notifications to users/roles, once they sign in the message can be displayed to the user/role
  • Several extended and optional features to enhance the overall portal login process
  • No changes to DNN Core, simply add module to a new page and change the login page under 'Site Settings', 'Login Page'.
