Hi,
I'm using latest release of OptIn on DNN 4.5.1. The DNN manifest is missing some stuff to indicate supported features (ISearchable, etc.), so they show as -1 in the module def entries in the Desktop Modules table.

The problem with that is that the DNN search spider trips on it, and throws repeated errors to the event log - in my case 7 errors every 30 minutes.

The workaround is to change DesktopModules.SupportedFeatrues to 0 for each OptIn item.

Just thought you might want to implement a fix on next release.

More info about it is on a forum post here http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Default.aspx?tabid=795&forumid=-1&scope=posts&threadid=128102.

Eric,

Hi. Thanks for your post. Was this happening on 4.5.0 or 4.5.1? I ask because I think this was listed as a gemini bug (http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=5483) but I think it has been corrected in 4.5.1 (from our initial testing at least, also it shows in gemini for 4.5.0 that it was fixed and that its supposed to determine this now).

In case other users also run into this we have tested this here with a 4.5.0 demo environment and could duplicate the issue. The fix is to go to Host, Module Definitions, and click Edit on each of the Opt In Email module definitions and then click 'Update'. Simply by clicking update (without making any changes) DNN will register that the module does not support those extended features and saves the information to the database as a 0 and not a -1.

Ill continue testing in 4.5.1 but I think the issue is already resolved in that release.

Thanks again for bringing this up.

-Chad

Chad,
Was running DNN 451, but I'm fairly sure the module was installed on DNN 450.
So it all makes sense.
