When I use NS of Firefox to either browse or edit where the Image Rotator module is, the DNN menu, be it on the top level, or the dropdown edit menu while managing the module, the dropdown menu is 'under' the rotating image photo.

Try dropping down "The Fair" menu on this page http://www.mofga.org/TheFair/tabid/135/Default.aspx
to see what I mean. IE is OK, FF or NS is under the photo.

Any ideas? This is not related to the skin or DNN version as I have another site that this happens on as well.

Thanks,

Will

This should be related to the transparency setting... What do you have the background and transparency options set within the module?

Hi Chad,

I have tried changing object transparency and that does not help. I have also changed background colors from nothing to white still nothing. It has something to do with the ways the different browsers deal with the flash image in your module.

It's pretty important as I am developing a page with the rotating image right under the menus and they are rendered useless with FF and NS as the menus pop _under_ the rotating image.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Will

Hey Chad,

Check out some relevant forum posts:
http://forums.asp.net/thread/1281899.aspx
http://forums.asp.net/thread/1157097.aspx

Would this mean you would have to do a new release or is this something we could change somehow?

Many thanks,

Will

Will,

Hi. Please check out this page:
http://www.datasprings.com/tabid/760/Default.aspx

I added the module to a test page to test this issue. This site is currently running v3.1 (should have existed in previous releases though) and after selecting 'object transparency' you will notice that the menu overlaps the flash object instead of the flash object overlapping the menu.

If you click view source within your browser and do a search for wmode= do you find anything?

Thanks Chad. If you reveal code on this page http://www.mofga.org/TheFair/tabid/135/Default.aspx
you will see that wmode is transparent, as it is in the code of your demo page. Still image covers the menu with FF. I wonder if it my be a property of the skin/menu sonehow?

I get the same thing with the dnn-blue skin. Have you tried it with that?

Also, I have "Check this if you would like to be notified when someone replies" checked but I am not receiving the email when you post a reply.

Many thanks,

Will

Hey Chad,

This is still a vexing problem for me. I do most all of DNN work in Firefox. Whenever I install the Image Rotator module on a page, the default 'hole' where the image goes is black and the module control menu is UNDER it. So I can only get at the 'settings' from IE. Have there been any updates, etc. on this issue?

Thanks,

Will
