When I go to the publically visible Previous Newsletters module and click on one of the newsletters in the list it doesn't expand to display the newsletter...

More precisely: the area where it should be displayed does expand but there is no content there.

Any idea what would cause this and how we can fix it?

Thanks,

Scott

Within the module settings are you specifying any categories to display within the previous newsletters?

Yes, I have specified the category and the newsletters are showing up (titles that are links you click on to expand them).

The trouble is when I click on a newsletter title it "expands" but displays nothing other than some blank lines.

I wonder if it could be a problem with the newsletter copy?

*BUMP*

This is still an issue. Is there anything else I can look at?

I am going to assume this feature does not work correctly and remove the module from the web site. Please notify me if an update fixes this problem of if you would like to try to recreate it.

Scott,

I am not sure what would cause this issue, possibly other javascript on the page, possibly other the copy. Are you entering text for the 'Non Personalized' newsletter because this is what the previous newsletter pulls into this module. Also, what happens if you go into Advanced Newsletter area under Previous Newsletter does it show up there?

I have attached some screenshots of how it should work which you can also see in our previous newsletter area.

I would open a support ticket on Snowcovered for this one so we can review it there.

Chad,
I am having this same issue. HTML in the previous newsletters is valid, and the titles show under the "previous newsletters" module, but when you click on them the page just expands a bit, maybe 20-30 px and doesn't show anything.

Will,

Chad's response let me know what was wrong.

When I created the newsletters I didn't add anything into the "Non Personalized" text area. I now know I need to paste in the contents of the Personalized newsletter into the non-personalized area before sending my final copy off to the list (as well as checking the box to show this newsletter on the previous newsletters page).

I am not sure exactly where this is in the documentation (I have read it but maybe not closely enough).

Anyway, I couldn't figure out how to fix this mistake through the user interface so I went into the database and used SQL to copy the Personalized content into the non-Personalized field. Next time I refreshed the page the newsletter content was there.

Hi, I have a similar problem to this using 3.1 (within a DNN 4.8.1 environment). I've added some newsletters, added content to both personalized and non-personalized areas and sent them. The messages get delivered okay and the newsletter appear in the the list of previous newsletters but the top one can never expand but the others in the list do happily. If I add a new newsletter the one that wouldn;t expand now does and the new one won't. It looks like a JS error but why would the others expand?

You can view the problem here in my testing site: http://www.psybt-trial.co.uk/Regions/Glasgow/tabid/133/language/en-GB/Default.aspx (previous newsletters in middle of page).

Thanx for any advice you can offer.

Hi, I have the same problem, and found out the cause. But really want to have a fix.

---- my scenario -----

I created a page and put 3 Previous Newsletters modules there. My aim was to show different newsletters in each Previous Newsletter modules according to the Opt In Categories selected in the setting. However the 3 modules showed every single previous newsletters because the filter is having bugs (as read from the forum and now awaiting for fix).

The details did not expand and showed "Error on page" at the lower left corner of my IE browser. So I singled out and moved each Previous newsletters modules to 1 module per page. Then the details can expland.

The modules should not interfer each other. Is there a fix or any idea?
