Am I correct to assume that if I don't set an email registration completion event that the email sent to new registered users will be sent through or by dnn?  Is the Registration completion event section of the module configuration the place where I would customize my own email that is sent to users that have registered to my site?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,

Hi. Yes you are correct to assume that for any emails going out they require completion events. Previous versions used to send out a basic standard DNN user notification but we were getting more and more requests to really put the only emails that go out using the completion events to give administrators the most power over what emails went out etc...

When creating a completion event keep in mind that you can use tokens throughout the email process including short field names of fields etc... So in the subject line you could have - Thanks for signing up $(FName) etc... Tokens can be used in the email from, to, subject, and email body. You can also specify that the completion event fires all of the time, only during initial registration, registration updates only, etc...

Hope this helps explain a few things.
