I'm not sure this is the place for this or not but here goes...

I would like to have the ability that just before sending the real email to be able to send the newsletter to a "test" list.

I've tried creating another list that only has myself in it. Problem is that using the Opt-in Email module it will show that list to all users, which is something I don't want.

Are there any ways around this or is this something that can be impleneted.

Thank you kindly,

Jon

Jon,

Hi. Actually your suggestion is used a lot for things such as this. Keep in mind that when you add an Opt In List you can go into settings for the module and not show any users that list. You could potentially setup 10 lists and only allow users to see from just a few. The simple opt in module doesn't show any at all so no worries there.

Ummmm... Another way is to just always use scheduling and the module in 'Test Mode' within the Advanced Newsletters module. This way the test mode will use the standard distribution list but only send to the test email account. This test mode is only for scheduled distributions though.

Ahhh. I see what's going on now.

When I tried adding a new Opt-in list I saw it displaying to the users (unchecked) even though I didn't want it too.

I had to go into settings where it was also unchecked and simply hit update and it removed it from the users seeing it.

If the auto display is by design I would recommend that it also be checked in the settings. if it is the other way around it should not display on the Opt-in list automatically.

Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for the help
