Hallo,

If I set the module to autogenerate the UserID and password and add a user, I will get an error that the UserID isn't correct.

I generate the userID bases on FirstName and LastName.  (the names are localized in dutch but this should affect the working of the module, I think)

Any ideas?

Hmmm... Is this running on 3.0? What version of Dynamic Registraiton and what version of DotNetNuke is this running on?

Well that should be ok then... From here go ahead and either open a support ticket on Snowcovered so we can take a look at it or see if you can duplicate the problem on www.betasprings.com (login as host/dnnhost). If you can duplicate it there we can usually get a patch out quickly or let you know what setting isn't correct. If you can't duplicate it on betasprings.com we would need to check out your portal specifically.

Hi Chad,

I reproduced the problem on betasprings.com

I have set the following advanced core integration options

Automatically create userID  ON

Password Prefix:  beta springs_

password suffix length  7

Auto create user type:  First /LastName

If I add this user:

First Name: Jan Alwin

Last Name: de Jong

Displayname: janalwindejong

etc..

I get this error:

The username specified is invalid. Please specify a valid username.

Hi. I am checking this out now... Can you tell me what page specifically you are testing this on www.betasprings.com (either the TabID or where I can test and debug from the same page).

Its also possible that password cannot include a space? In this case "beta springs" for the password prefix could cause an issue. Also, its possible that the problem is that the Username cannot have a space in it... Hmmm... If you entered just Jan and not JanAlwin or 'deJong' instead of 'de Jong' would it work? We might need to modify the code to remove any spaces when creating the UserID. Its possible that its attempting to create the user as Jde Jong instead of JdeJong because DNN will not allow you to create a userID with spaces in it?

I just tried removing the spaces from the prefix and the names but this doesn't solve the problem

Hi. Ok I am looking at this, I think I was testing the wrong thing. I was testing adding a new user (just registering as a new user with auto create userID on).

You will see that actually works, if you try and register:
http://www.betasprings.com/default.aspx?TabID=95

Then I was able to enter a first, last name and it created a userID for me and registered me on the site.

Now I do have a problem when I try and add a new user as an administrator so I am researching this now, before I was only testing the auto create user ID feature as a standard user would be when going and registering on the portal.

Hi. We should have a fix by the end of next week for this. We have a few othe rminor issues /bugs that have been found since the 4.8 release related to manage users grid and some other minor items on the list. So... We can duplicate an issue with the &AddUser=True when the system is setup to auto create users and we should have a fix out shortly, sorry for the delay.

I will check another thread, I believe we also have a fix coming for localization of the dropdownlist items (such as greater than, less than, equal to) within the Dynamic User Directory search features. This is in the works as well but I will follow up with that thread.
