Hi Chad,

I don't use the opt-in lists/subscribing side of the module (I use the core Roles for this and then import the roles into a list (it would be great if a List could read/update a role directly) - I only use the Sending side of things and the scheduler.

Is there any way to get tracking to work without making the Opt In module visible? I was reading this thead but I am not sure it applies to me if I am not using that part of the module. I would however like to track read responses..

Thanks

Rodney

It appears as though there is no way to hide all the info on the receiving OptIn module - I added it to the page that I specified in the Newsletter module and pasted the tracking URL into the browser. It is possibly the incorrect portal alias problem causing it not to be tracked but I don't want to show the user all the Opt-In stuff - I just need to have a page with the OptIn module hidden to receive the tracking request to log it - is this possible?

Rodney,

Hi. Yes if its displaying all of the information on the page then the tracking bug isn't working properly. What is your alias set to, is this a child or parent portal?

The tracking bug should be displaying a 1px by 1px spacer image, and when navigating to the tracking URL it should be the only thing that comes up.

Either way... 4.0 is right around the corner (going to documentation stage by end of week). If you can hold out for this you will be much better off as there are many more tracking features (such as ability to use stylesheet or choose your own image for tracking, also ability for link tracking and advanced link tracking features such as firing off emails when a user clicks a link etc...). You can demo it now on www.betasprings.com (login as host with a pw of dnnhost). Many new features in 4.0.

Hi Chad,

It is a parent portal (but not number 0).

I look forward to version 4.0 - I will try it out when I have time.
