Hello,

I am creating a simple RSVP form using v2.5.

The form just asks if you are attending and how many guests (along with thier names). Then it sends an autoresponder out to the reciepient and a notifier to a specified email address (admin)Everything is working fine except the dynamic email at the completion is not passing the actual event details. All other fields are being passed and show up in the email (name, email address, guest names, etc...)

The event details is just a simple text area so i used the text/HTML question type and placed it at the top of the form. I gave it a shortname of MeetingInfo. When I created my completion email, I added $(MeetingInfo) to the message, but nothing comes up.

I switched the question type to textbox and it works but then it shows up in a text box on the page (if I hide it, then it doesn't show up in the email). Same when I switch the question type to hidden.
It is OK if it is hidden in the form, as long as it shows up in the email.

ALso a separate question:
Is there a way to pull the contents from a separte Text/HTML module on my page (outside of Dynamic Forms) into one of my form fields? ANd then send that information via email?

Thank you in advance.

Hi. Well the text/HTML is a 'field type' but its really not a question or anything that is rendered /referenced etc... This is typically if you want to insert some text within your form or maybe seperators, an image, etc...Typically if you wanted to enter this same text/HTML (since its static) within the email event you would simply copy and paste the same text/HTML instead the email completion event.

As far as the other question, you can pass variables to Dynamic Forms via querystring or session variables (and cookie variables starting in 2.6) but you can't actually 'pull in' another modules content. I imagine you could if you used a text/html field type with an IFRAME possibly but this request has never come up before so not sure yet.

Thanks for the quick response.

I understand what you mean regarding the text/HTML field type and I was using it for that purpose. It is just that I want to post the event details into the email without having to dig into the email each time I want to change an event. I wanted it so that I would just go in and edit one question every month when they have a new event. I guess there is no way to send any hidden values to the email (because they are hidden)?

As for the second part. Thanks again, I am not going to move any further on this at this time. Maybe on my next project

Hi. Well the module can render 'Hidden' question types, just not fields that are specified as 'Hide by role'. IF you use a 'hidden' field type then you could easily change the default value for this form field (or retrieve the field value via a SQL query) and then you are ok... When you 'hide fields by role' or 'hide fields to anonymous users' though the fields are never rendered at all (and therefore not available within the completion events).
