Hi all,I want to know how to make a field viewable by users but editable only by admin.

Well.... If you 'Hide by role' or 'Hide by unauthenticated user' then this would display only for admins but nothing (not read only to non admins).

The only way I think you could do this would be to create two field properties, and link both of them to the DNN Core extended profile property (making the 2nd field the one that the Admin would have edit rights too). So, both fields are linked to an extended profile field called 'MyFieldAta'. One field is a textbox field which is set to 'Read Only' under advanced field options. The other field is set as a standard textbox but is not set to 'Read Only' however the it is set to be 'Hidden to registered users' security role.

This would allow the user to see a read only field with the data for a property that they could not change, but it would also allow the admin the ability to make changes. Both fields would be set to update the DNN Core Profile Property so that when the admin updated it would also show the new results to the user in the read only field.
