Hi!
I try to find out how to set up a message to an already registered user who updates his registration.

I found how to setup a system message that displays after initial registration, and also how to redirect to an other page after update. But I just want to display a small message after an update below or abopve the existing form, how should I do this?
Can it be done?

Best regards

Petri

Petri,

Hi. The only way to do this (at least in the current version, we will review adding this down the road), is to simply redirect them to a 'Thank you for updating your information page' after they update. If you need this page to include tokens you could always pass values to our Tailored Text/HTML module.

Yes i was trying to achieve the same thing  - user updates password and is redirected back to the same tab (aggregated tab module running 3 instances of DR) to see a Password updated icon and conformation message.

Until this is a feature of DR i thought i could achieve a workaround by passing a querystring ?update=true back to a Text/HTML module which supports optional display based on querystring but surprisingly i can't find any modules out there that offer this functionality. It doesn't appear like Tailored Text supports this either (let me know if i'm wrong).

Does anyone have a suggestion on how this could be achieved?

Thanks

Adam

Or is it possible to send the user a conformation email on update? I can't see which token to use for the users email address in the completion events

$(UserN)
$(Pass)
$(ConfirmPass)
$(PortalName)
$(RegType)

Thanks

Adam,

Well all communication via email is handled with Dynamic Email Completion Events... These events can be fired based on any response or based conditionally on a users response. They can also be determined based on new registration VS updated registrations etc...

The key is to use the dynamic token that represents a field on the form that is 'linked' to their email address. So... If the user is updating their information and updating their email field this might be a textbox with the short field name of $(Email)... If that is the case you can email them at $(Email) for the email to property. Additionally, if the user is updating their password maybe and not their email address you would just have to create a hidden field that is linked to the email address instead of a textbox field. This particular field is linked under 'DNN Core Integration' section.
