Hello,

I'm using Dynamic Login 1.0 (DLL version 1.0.0.22113) successfully on a couple of DNN sites, and have a new problem on one of them (DNN 4.8.1): after login the welcome message is correctly displayed, but when user clicks to "continue" I get a "Failed to load viewstate." error.

The same redirection used to work, and I'm not aware of any changes I could have done apart the configuration of the defaulturl setting: could this cause the problem? How can I solve?

I have an Enterprise license, so I could eventually modify code myself if needed - no plan to upgrade for now.

Here's the error:

Message: DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Failed to load viewstate. The control tree into which viewstate is being loaded must match the control tree that was used to save viewstate during the previous request. For example, when adding controls dynamically, the controls added during a post-back must match the type and position of the controls added during the initial request. ---> System.Web.HttpException: Failed to load viewstate. Thanks for any help,

al.

Hi. Well the 1.0 release was never build or coded against DNN 4.8.1 as there have been many changes (Both in the login module and in DotNetNuke) since the 1.0 release.

If it was working before with DNN 4.8.1 and just stopped though I am not sure. Which page or where are you redirecting the user? Is this a default redirection or based on a security role?

Hi Chad,

I'm redirecting users to different pages based on their role; I have now 5 role rules, with priorities from 0 to 4.

I just tried changing the target page, but always get the "failed to load viewstate" error now, for any role.

The strange thing is I have another DNN 4.8.1 on the same phisical server, on which the same module works perfectly

Investigating further....

thanks for helping,

al.

Chad,

I found the cause of the problem: if I hide the dynamic login module container, whenever user click to "continue" after logging in he gets the "failed to load viewstate" error.

There must be something in module that tries to talk with the container...
