Hi, it would be good to have proper multi page forms like EnterpriseForms give you - i think if this was added the product would be far superior the EF. I know you can do multipage forms but not easily.

Dan,

Hi. Thanks for your comments. Yes, I agree we need to add additional functionality for multi page forms (as you already said, yes you can to it but its much more complicated then it needs to be). Each implemntation is different though and whenever we do add this feature we will want to make sure to help the greatest majority and also not make it too complicated for users to enable and configure/disable multi pages within the form etc...

There are a few ways of implementing this in future releases and we have been in discussions here about the best method.

Option one - Specify master and child pages (not a big favorite of mine because you pretty much can already do this now using querystring variables on the master page and pass them to hidden fields on the slave page).

Option two - We could setup an area to manage pages just like questions along with an 'enable/disable' multi pages feature within general settings. Within the advanced field option of questions we could then specify which page the particular question is supposed to be on. This provides the most overhead for management (i.e. don't want to make it too complicated for users not wanting multi form pages) but would also provide the most flexibility for specifying certain page variables (like maybe a page name at the top and if you want to display it or not, or setting the next button such as 'Continue to Page 2' or 'Continue to step 2 of 3.' etc...

Option Three - Just allow you to specify a page name within advanced field options (i.e. a textbox not a dropdownlist of pages as option two would have). This would be simple and too the point but would lack on certain page features such as optionally specifying a page header for each page, setting the 'Next Page' link etc...

We would appreciate everyones comments. I am sure this will be in a future release and thanks again for your feedback.

Chad, i think option two would be best, it needs to be flexible to suit the majority of people. If this could be done then it would really add to teh product.

A comment on the way forms are laid out, it would be nice to have more control, i.e. the number of columns, where the labels sit in relation to the input (left, right, above, below). I guess a wysiwyg approach would be best (something EF is very good at) but would require a lot of work on your part.

Cheers, Dan.
