Jan,

Hi. Yes this is a problem. The Dynamic Registration, Dynamic Forms, and Tailored Text/HTML are the only modules in our collection that currently support content localization. So basically you are just wanting the field labels for each search field to be localized based on the current users language?

Hi, is there a chance to have this problem solved? This is a feature that I need for all my customers that need a directory. All the field names appear in English rather that the alternate name I gave them in spanish (even though in dynamic registration the field name appears in spanish). Regards,

Eric

Hi guys... This is a feature we have just added to the 2.4 release and will be explained better in the documentation once this release is finished. The release is currently on www.betasprings.com though in case you want to test this feature out.

Basically for each profile field within the search, and also for the search criteria properties you can now use localization. The criteria is already setup with localized tokens in the DynamicUserDirectory.ascx.resx file included in the update and in the 2.4 release if you add additional ones (based on your extended or core profile fields) then you will be able to use them.

For example, for a field such as Prefix you would have to add this to the file:

My Prefix:

Etc... Within the search grid these localized parameters will not render the new localized search label and not the static text as it was before.

Hi Chad,

I'm tying to localize the new version now.

Localisation of the search criteria is working well, but how do you localize the searchfields?

I don't see anything in the DynamicUserDirectory.ascx.resx.

I want to localize the DNN corefields FirstName and LastName. They are displayed as First Name and Last Name (with space between the words).  But I can't find a way to translate this to dutch.

Regards,

Jan Alwin

Hi. I would go into more detail about this but there is already a similar thread that was updated recently. Basically you are in the right place but need to actually add new localization entries for your fields (such as FirstName.Text etc..)

Check out this forum thread related to Dynamic User Directory Localization w/ Search Field Labels.
