Hi, I'm using Dyn. Registration on a DNN 5.0.1 portal, and it only has 1 language, but when I want to change values for this language (I want to change "Update registration" on the form) under the Module configuration > Content localization > Form localization there are no languages in the dropdown.

It just says - Select language -.
So I cannot change the default values.

Hi, if you only have 1 language there isn't anything to choose. You would need to install another language or multiple language packs and then you will be able to see other languages under the drop down list displayed. -- David

I know, but what if I still wanted to change some texts...and not use the default texts.

HI Marnix, there is a way to do this but please be careful. As always, when you edit these files, it's best to make a backup just in case you make a typing mistake, etc. can can go back to the original.
1) go to your C:\inetpub\wwwroot\??? DNN website directory on the web server and then sub-directory DesktopModules\Dynamic Registration\App_LocalResources

In this directory, make a backup of "DynamicRegistrationQuestions.ascx.resx" file. Then you can edit this "DynamicRegistrationQuestions.ascx.resx" file and change the text to whatever it is you prefer for different questions, etc. See if this works for you. -- David

I tried to modify the resource files through the DNN languages option.
However I can't seem to change "Update registration" at the bottom of the form.

And besides that, I think it would still be a good idea to let people edit the default language. So perhaps you could include that in the next version.

HI again, if you view the file directly (DynamicRegistrationQuestions.ascx.resx) in notepad instead of using the DNN language option, you will see an entry called
&data name="InitialUpdate.Text">
Update Registration

" This is where you make your changes to the default text and save the file and refresh the web browser and it should work. -- David

I actually ftp-ed the resource files and looked at them, but they show the translation. Only when I look online, it is still english.
I don't think it is cache or anything, so there must be a different explanation....

HI, I'll get back with you on this. I just tried modifying "Update Registration" at the bottom, editing the file manually and also using the DNN Languages and it's not working either. Perhaps "Update Registration" link at the bottom is not localized or it's another string altogether. -- David
