We are experiencing a few issues with Dynamic Registration (we have just purchased the 'suite' via snowcovered.com):

- We have a combobox consisting of three values that we want to tie back to a DNN user profile property that we have created.  We have made this a required field for the registration process.  However, we cannot leave the top selection in place and complete the registration unless we choose one of the other two values (which is not ideal of course, we want users to be able to register based on one of the three values).  Leaving the first value in place, results in a message indicating that the field is required.  A default value is not set for this question.

- We have two completion events that apply to each of the three selections mentioned above.  We want to assign the new user to two different DNN roles based on their combobox selection.  It appears that only one role is assigned each time.

- We have the nice 'Enable AJAX Username check' feature turned on.  The process is working great, however when it completes after hitting the Tab key it does not automatically place you into the next field (which happens to be Password: in our case).  You then have to relocate yourself and click in the Password: field to continue registering.

Hi Todd,

Thanks for purchasing the collection!

When a combobox is required, you cannot select the first option as you already experienced.  Instead, please add something like Please select...  as the first option and this should work for you.

Events using the same user response to do 2 different things don't work because they conflict when fired.  Do you apply one of the roles to all situations and then assign specific roles based on user selection?  If so, please try a role event for 'any field response'  for the general role and then just 3 other role events for each selection and let's see if that works for you.

I'll have to research the AJAX issue so let's take care of the top 2 issues first.  Thanks!

Hi Candace,

Thank you!  The first thing I have to say is that I am so impressed with your response times.  You all are great!

Your suggestions make perfect sense.  Sorry, we are new to DNN, Data Springs, etc. I should have thought of those things myself :-).  They work great!

Looking forward to hearing back from you re: the field focus issue.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Todd,

We're not sure yet about the Enable AJAX Username Check but we will be reviewing this for the 4.0 release tentatively scheduled for end of 3rd quarter and we'll see that it's fixed. Thanks!

Hi Candace,

Will the Ajax Username Check focus issue fix be in the 4.0 release?  Are we getting close to a release date?  It would be great to correct this before we go live with our site!

Thanks!

-Todd

Hi Todd.  Yes this is included in the list for the next release which is slated for late Oct./early Nov.  (the goal is before the OpenForce 09 conference).   Watch out for announcements!  Thanks!

Hi Candace,

I just wanted to let you know that it appears that the Ajax username check focus issue gets corrected when you upgrade to DNN 5.x.  This has been the case on both our Development VM's and pre-live site.  The cursor correctly moves to the next field (in our case Password) once the check takes place.
