Good news!

Plans are already underway for Version 2.3 of Dynamic Registration. Several previous releases have lead up to some of the additional enhancements that we are now able to add, coding was somewhat held up previously due to some limitations with ASP.NET Postback and storeing ViewState information.

Here are a few enhancements on the list for Dynamic Registration 2.3:

  • Question Header / Footer implementations. These headers/footers will be available on a question by question basis and work similar to the example text property except that the text will be either above or below the field instead of to the right of the field as the example text is.
  • Client / Server Validation - New features will be implemented to allow the administrator to choose from client side validation (before user hits submit) and server side validation (after user hits submit). Server side validation will allow questions such as radio buttons, checkbox's, listbox's, and other field types to be required. The feature will also allow the user to not be able to select the 1st option in a dropdownlist (i.e. < Select Option >) if the combo box is set to required.
  • Question Events - A major enhancement request from many users. Question events will provide the ability to to fire off specific events for different questions. this feature is currently still in beta stages and should be utilized as a beta. Events can be fired on a number of different question types including dropdownlists/combo box's, radio button lists, and checkbox's. The purpose of these features are to either hide another question based on the results of one question, or to change the default value of a question based on the results of this question, etc....  A few scenerios...
    • Scenerio one: User has selected 'Option A' from dropdownlist 1, based on that selection the default value for dropdownlist2 is OptionA2
    • Scenerio two: User has selected 'Option B' from dropdownlist 1, based on that selection the field 'OptionAValues' is completely hidden.
    • Scenerio three: User has selected 'Option B' from dropdownlist 1, although the question 'OptionBValues' is initially not available, this will force this field to be displayed

Several other features will be ready and included as well; we do not have an expected release date yet but we will have one soon.
