Hi

I have purchased the DR source a few months ago as we intend to add an ajax based postcode lookup control for Australia / NZ and my developers are having a problem with loading the source. If it's ok i will ask them to provide any additional details you might need to get the problem resolved, their issue is:

"Today we have tried to run source code and found that DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.DNNLabelEdit is miss all property and method due to that we are getting "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". We have also gone through forum respective to Error and tried to download new version of dll, but same problem persist.

If you can ask Data Springs then they can guide what exactly we can do?"

Sandeep's environment is running:

  • DotNetNuke version is 4.6.2.0
  • DotNetNuke.webcontrols is 1.5.3.20116
  • XP and VS2005 install SP1

Can you suggest what may be causing the error?

Hi guys... Sorry for the late response on this, we are knee deep in the 3.2 release of Dynamic Registration and didn't see this one come in. We can't provide direct support for source code but another user ran into this before and I believe they had to go to the webcontrols.dotnetnuke.com and download a sample web.controls project for the DNNLABELEDIT dll. This is an open source / available download so as long as you can get the DNN Label Edit control to work in any module/application you should just be able to then include the same reference there.

Does adding a control such as this:
Protected WithEvents lblHeader As DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.DNNLabelEdit

Reference the proper namespace/framework? Also what version of DotNetNuke are you building against? I believe we are building against the web.controls version of "1.5.0.24279" and when I right click on the DNN Label Edit and go to that definition I see:

Public Class DNNLabelEdit
Inherits System.Web.UI.WebControls.Label
Member of: DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls

So.... not really sure what would be causing this?
