I posted a couple of bugs in early December which you said were fixed in DynReg 2.3.1

When I inquired where to obtain the fixes, you said that 2.3.1 for DNN 3.3x had not been released. Now I see references to upcoming release of 2.3.3 in some of the latest forum posts. Will there be a release for DNN 3.3x?

I am in a position where I cannot upgrade to DNN 4, so it is important that I am able to use the "fixed" functionality. Please advise on your roadmap for future DNN 3.x support.

Thanks!

Eric

Eric,

Sorry for the late reply. We will be posting a fix for 3.3 as soon when we release Dynamic Registraiton 2.4.

As far as future support for 3.3: At this time (past Dynamic Registration 2.3) we are not planning to continue releasing updated releases for the 3.x version because many of the new enhancements of 2.4 takeing advantage of the 4.x framework including performance and so forth (you will notice DotNetnuke 4.4 also was not released for a 3.x version which I am assuming was for similar reasons).

As far as your issues we do have them on the list and will be releasing an update with these bug fixes when we release Dynamic Registration 2.4 which we currently have planned for the end of next week. Sorry we didn't get in touch over the holidays but this will be taken care of soon.

Eric.

GREAT NEWS!! First, we are currently QA'ing the latest beta of 2.4 (ssssshhhh, don't tell anyone its ready :)) and things seem to be going well. We will continue to test and clean any bugs we find before the final release but everything is looking like this is going to be a very stable release.

Now, for the even better news for those users using DNN 3.3.x. The latest releases of Dynamic Registration have been built in VS2005 and until now we have had to maintain another build within VS2003 for users that are still on the 1.1 framework. We had no problems adding and maintaining this seperate build but we were starting to wonder just how long we would continue to support 3.x and also which enhancements and/or bugs were slipping through the cracks with the 3.3 release and so forth.

So the good news is.... drumroll... We have now found a way to compile VS2005 builds with the 1.1 framework. This will help us better support this version of DNN and also provide for more consistent releases.

Hey Chad!

Great news indeed!!! I have tested the latest build in DNN 3.3.7, and it works like a charm! All of the issues (Email not saving into the Core tables, Layout settings not saving, etc...) that I had been seeing have disappeared!

I appreciate all of your efforts in providing this update. And, I am thrilled that you will be able to continue DNN 3.3x support!

Thanks again - DataSprings Rocks!

Eric
