It appears the the returnURL variable is not taken into account when using this module.

Is there any way I can get the returnURL variable forward someone to a specific page after registration?

I don't believe I'm going to be able to use the built in functionality to redirect a user to a page after Registration Completion because there are specific querystring veriables that need to be sent with the page request.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jon

Jon,

Hi. Are you running on 3.2? In previous versions the module would redirect to the 'Referrel or previous URL' directly from the browser. This was also because DNN in previous versions never passed or used the ReturnURL (and typically they would be the same anyway). In the 3.2 release we first check the ReturnURL and then if it doesn't exist we still use the existing referral URL for the previous page the user was on.

Is the user redirecting here or are you passing them a link with a returnURL in it?

I tried it on version 2.2 and the upgraded earlier today to version 3.2 and it's doing the same thing.

I'm directing people to the registration page tabid and appending a custom returnURL path and it still is taking me to the homepage after registration.

Under Module Configuration, General Settings, do you have the setting to 'Redirect to previous URL' checked? Do you have any URL redirection completion events setup?

Perfect!

The checkbox under the General Settings was not checked and it was set to go to the Homepage in the Registration redirect in the same section.

Thank you very much. I was not looking forward to having to re-code the DNN registration page.
