who do you want to send the email confirmation to? anyway the principle is:
create a new "Registration Completion Events" with event type "Dynamic Email". Then create the email in the template designer in the event. |

Having same problem I have setup email completion events and emails are not sending out. I have been Sending them manually for now but really need it to automate. If anyone hears on this please let us know.
Also does anyone know when the new version is out I thought Chad said the end of last month but I have not seen any info on the new version of dynamic registration.
Thanks

Paul, Hi. Yes its running slightly behind but only as we continue to make sure all the features are in place and ready. We are aiming for the next two weeks for latest beta and within the next 30 days for full release (including updated documentation). As far as completion events and email - Yes, these are setup as Bamse described above. If email is not working I would check: 1. What is email to and from set to? 2. Is it set to fire for 'Any Field Response'? 3. Does email work in other areas of the site. For example, if you go to Admin, Newsletters, and you distribute an email sucessfully there? If not, check your email settings under Host, Host Settings, Advanced, SMTP Configuration. -Chad |

Chad, I have checked all the settings on my server and I am able to send a test email but I still cannot get it to send the confirmation email. The event log states user is not local and says it a bad recipient. How can we overcome this problem.
Thanks |

| Hi. I believe we are reviewing this in a support case of yours as well but I wanted to see if you can copy the actual full error that the event log is returning. This will help us in debugging the issue. The email functions that Dynamic Registration and Dynamic Forms uses are the same email functions that the core users. Its good to verify that an email going out under Admin, Newsletters has the same email from/to and works and then review the completion event email to/from etc... |

Marcus, Hi. Did you ever find out what was causing this? I just went to this address and registered and did receive an email confirmation so I am assuming you already have this fixed? Just wanted to follow up on the thread in case other users received the same issue. Maybe something to do with the email to or email from address? -Chad |

Hi Chad,
I'm glad to see its working too??? The only thing I have changed on the server is to get the default website in IIS up and running using .net 2. Previously I had it stoppped. Would this make the difference do you think? The emails are exactly the same as when I had the problem, I had just left the site alone waiting for feedback from you.
Thanks

I have the same issue going on, event log shows "User not Local" SMTP error. I tried sending through core newsletters and from test link on host SMTP settings and get the same thing.
I thought this was a problem with the Dyn Form module or the fact that I created it from a template but it appears this has something to do with the core. I have successfully created many forms with email completion events and they work fine .. but it appears that has all stopped now. All email events get the same error. My guess is that is that perhaps my host PowerDNN has added some SMTP restrictions ... investigating.
If anyone else has an answer, please let me know. I will post here too when I figure it out.
Thanks
Kelly

Hi guys... Yes please check with the hosting company, once emails work successfully under Admin, Newsletters, they should work just fine with Dynamic Registration. I would for sure check on the 'from' email, especially if you upgraded from a previous version of DNN. I say this because I think previous versions of DNN would default the from email to the admins email but now I think they allow you to enter one and if this address isn't correct or from the same domain name this could cause a problem. Either way, thanks for the post and let us know what you find out. -Chad |

Yes, I can confirm that this was a problem with the hosting company making SMTP server changes, not with the module. It has been resolved all is well. Thanks
