We imported about 20,000 emails for one of our Newsletters.
Since some of these are a few years old, we expect to have a lot returned to us as unable to deliver.
I see that Tracking will tell us if the Newsletter has been opened, but Is there a quick way to delete emails bounced back to us - or do we need to go through the list one email at a time?
How are others handling this?
Pete, Hi. Unfortunatly bounce backs are always handled differently by each mail server etc... Its not exactly something the module itself can pick up. That being said we do plan to offer 'Management Maintenance' features in the near future. What this will allow you to do is basically determine 'If a user hasn't read a message in the last x number of days or in the last x numbe of newsletters then delete them or opt them out at least'. You would be able to do this as well with a query to the database. Give us some time to come up with the query but it shouldn't be too difficult. Maybe if you determined the specific criteria (i.e. x number of days or x number of reads) we could help come up with the delete statement you would want to use. Thanks, Chad
Hi Chad, It would indeed be nice to have some more managements options so we can manage users better than we can now.
Right now you can only delete 1 user at a time, it would be nice if you could add some more search options (right now, only e-mail address, name and lastname) but it would be good to be able to select all users from france, or all users from company X, or all users ho haven't paid their bills, etc. So search on custom fields, view the custom fields directly and be able to edit the custom fields directly in the list would be a great improvement.
Another thing would be to make a better administration system, right now, I'm looking all over the place before I can find what I am looking for. Wouldn;t it be better to make a central administration page, like on the DNN forum module.
