Under the layout settings "Opt In Layout" -> Manage System Emails it appears that the "Existing Email Verification Message" can't use the following paramters:  $(FirstName) - First name
$(LastName) - Last name.
It appears that some others work like ManageURL and Subscription.

Hi. I just tested this locally and don't seem to be having a problem. Can you open a support ticket with login information so that we can verify the settings. So when the email goes out does it actually just include the tokens or does it include empty text?

Chad, I'll do some more testing on this. It appears that most of them work as advertised. My initial pass indicated that it was only in this one specific section it didn't work as I expected. Again, I'll test it out again and get back with you.

I have the same issue for a few of the prefabricated emails I tried to customize:

$(FirstName),

Your subscription verification is complete!

$(FirstName),

Your subscription updates have been saved.

...displays the token instead of the name; verification email and the update email.  In fact, nearly every email. All of the 'system emails' emails work (and they display the tokens we can use). The 'manage layout' emails are a mixed bag.

I just purchased this module and found this issue pretty quickly upon testing.  Has this issue been addressed?

Hmmm... Weird, I do think we had a patch for this when this was discovered but that was a long time ago and I assumed the patch was updated. First, check the patches and hot fixes area as I believe there was an update that fixed a few minor issues. If you do still run into the issue please open a support case and we will follow up on this thread after the support case with a concrete answer. It doesn't appear that we had a concrete answer before but I have not run into this myself so hopefully its been updated in the latest patch.

Chad,
I am having an issue with not being able to update the layout and the system messages. It will not leave me save the messages or layout with DNN version 4.84.......

Any Ideas? has there been a patch that has been released since these messages were posted?

Kind Regards,

Todd M Renier

Todd,

Hi. The issue will be addressed in a few ways (new version of DNN/Rich Text Box editor and also a new version of Opt In Email 4.0 coming out soon) but.... The issue is because DNN (a few versions back) forced AJAX within the settings. The problem with this is that it doesn't work well with any settings that use 'Rich Text Box'. Your options are...

1. Disable AJAX on the site (yuck)
2. Choose Basic Textbox within the Rich Text Editor before clicking the update message
