Why is the scheduled email and direct unscheduled email working differently in respect of images.

When I sent a test (not test mode) email using the "Send email" -link, my images with absolute paths worked correctly and I got perfect test emails into my mail box. I thought they would work the same way when I use the "Add distribution to schedule" ... well, I found out they didn't and 1600 emails were send with base href url added in front of every image url in the sceduled email???? And of course the images were not shown!  And guess who was angry - my customer!!!!

Why aren't these working the same way in both send email situations?!!?

Was there a fix for this?  I am having the same issue as well as..

Items sent using Send have the correct Tracking URL using a friendly URL.

Scheduled items have a non-friendly URL that fails, so the delivery is not tracked.

Thanks

Hmmm... and what page is specified within settings of the module as the main opt in email module? Also are you using BASE HREF within the header (also specified in settings?). There are a lot more code added (especially detailed logging) so we always suggest to use the scheduler, you can either add the module in test mode or distribute to an opt in list such as 'Admin Test' that no users ever see and you only have a few addresses in there. You can then adjust the settings, any header tags such as BASE HREF's from there etc... These kind of sounds like two seperate issues int he same thread though, Jukka's is related to images not appear and this is a seperate issue related to Tracking URL.

I'll do some more testing next week with additional logging. But....

I've moved the main module to a top level and made sure everyone has access to it. When I use the scheduler, neither tracking nor the Opt-Out link in the email work correctly. Using just Send everything is fine. The two modes are building the URL's differently. The Base URL is fine, my trouble started there with the image problem above.

Essentially, when I review the source for the HTML in the email, the links are different.

I'll play some more and maybe send a couple of newsletters to you to look at.

Thanks
Rob
