Hi! I am using advanced opt in email in one of projects and I cant send mail through it. I have created a category and added the newsletter subscriber in that category , when I check the subscribers, i.e when I want to send mail to particular group of users, and also for individual mail ids its not sending mail. After I click the Send mail link a message comes that all the users in the particular category will recieve mails successfully but still they are not recieving any mails.

I have also checked the Email settings. Please help me , Am I missing some thing??

Under the email settings, are you able to do a test email or are you using the host settings?  I think the hist settings has the test link grayed out so that you can't do a test this way.  Can you send email from within DNN?  If so, change your email settings in the advanced email module to "Custom" and put in the same credentials that you use for your dnn host settings for email.  I had to do this as the default host settings for the advanced email module would not send mail.  Once I chose  the custom settings and put in the right credentials, I was able to start sending emails.

In a conversation I had with Chad, he hinted that the "Custom" option doesn't make a lot of sense or has limited user case scenarios and therefore may be removed in future releases.  The only caveat I have to that is the default Host email settings don't seem to work as it should and the problem needs to be tested and resolved before removing the Custom option.
