I have a very strange problem.  I have installed Opt-In EMail 2.60.21 on DNN 4.1.1.  When I go to the Module Settings, all post back links on the Module Settings page quit working.  I can't save the module settings.  But I can't navigate to other areas of the site using the page edit bar at the top of the page anyway.  Basically, if a link uses javascript:__doPostBack, that link does not work.

I don't have this problem on any other pages or when updating the Module Settings for any other module.

Jon,

More than likely this was an upgrade from 4.4.0 to 4.4.1 right? This is a large known issue with the upgrade and is related to compression settings. You need to add webresource.axd to the exclusion list. So you should have...

Install/Install.aspx
LinkClick.aspx
WebResource.axd
ImageChallenge.captcha.aspx

You will then want to restart the application from within host settings as well.

Thanks for the info and link. I spent a couple hours researching the issue and checking my site over pretty well. I never used 4.4.0 but rather upgraded from 4.3.5 directly to 4.4.1. So the site never used compression.

The compression module was enabled in web.config, although compression was never enabled in host settings. I've now commented out the compression module in web.config but I'm still having problems with the Opt In Email Module Settings.

The only thing different is that I have re-installed this module since upgrading to 4.4.1 (for other reasons). I have not re-installed any other modules.

Chad,

I don't have the above issue if I use IE7 to access the Module Settings page. Only when using FireFox (specifically, I was using 2.0.0.1).

This is not compression related as I have compression completely disabled. I can use IE7. But I'd love to help you diagnose what the issue is with FireFox.

By the way, if anyone cares, I rolled back to DNN 4.3.5 and re-ran the update to 4.4.1. The issue completely cleared up. *shrug*
