First up, just have to say what a great product Opt-in Email is, the best out there in the DNN world from what I've seen. There are a couple of features that we use in a CF email marketing module is the ability to track links.

Links included in the email, contains parameters, and when the user clicks on these links it records it in DB for later reporting. It's very handy from a marketing point-of-view to track the success of an email campaign.

Anyone's thoughts would be great!

Hi. Actually v2.7 (current version is 2.6) will include email tracking with reports. We have been working on these enhancements for some time, actually the user won't even have to click a link. All they will have to do is open an email and this will store information for Opt In Email reports to show you when they read the email, how many people read the email, etc.... Very useful tool. We are looking for a beta release by Mid April with a full release by the end of April or first part of May. Anyway, fun stuff!

As far as what you could do now... You can always include links along with the users email address within your email. This can be done with using the personalization tokens such as $(emailaddress) within the message. Somethign like this:

Please click here: http://www.yoursite.com/default.aspx?TabID=36&UsersEmail=$(EmailAddress) etc... This way you can review your site log to see how the list of referrers and so forth. Not as detailed as what you will be getting in the 3.0 release but can still be very useful to see how many clicks you get.

Sounds great. We're not so interested in when and how many people read the emails, it's more the links they click on in the email.

If we have a promotion on, and we include a link to it in an email, we want to know how many people clicked on the link to the promotion page.

Looking forward to the next release.
