Hi,

I am testing Dynamic forms on  trial and so far I'm loving it.  But, I have searched around but I can't find an answer to my "exact" problem.

I would like to do a classical workflow operation where someone submits a form (data is saved in my own flat table) and then send an email with a link that will allow a second person (an "aprover" if you will) to open a secondary form with the data from the first form with additional form content.

I can save to a table & send the email, but passing say the UniqueCompletionId within a URL link within the email seems a no-can-do.

The link opens the second form well enough, but the $(UniqueCompletionId) is included as just a string, not the value it contains. So I get the form empty.

Am I doing somthing wrong or is this simple a html constraint.  Is there another way?

Thanks, Patto.

Hi again,

I have fixed the email link so it sends a link with the proper UniqueCompletionID string, but I'm guessing the SQL bind in the second form doesn't work like I'm hoping.

I have...

SELECT DateRequest, DisplayName, DateFrom, DateTo FROM pcwLeaveRequests WHERE UniqueCompletionID = '$(UniqueCompletionID)'

If I hard code the UniqueCompletionID in the bind it works.

Should I be able to get this to work or am I wasting my time?

Thanks, Patto.

Ok, I think I have this sorted.

I added a DSParam1 field on the second form which receives the UniqueCompletionID, and then did a "SQL driven" command on the second form fields which queries the DB table using DSParam1 and returns a single "DefaultValue" field value from the relavent record and it works!

This only shows I have far to much time on my hands!!

Thanks anyway.  This is looking good .

Rgds, David.
