I see in the examples how to display text in javaScipt code when a checkbox is checked.

How can a radio button be referenced in the code to display text if a particular radio button is selected?

Thanks

Hi. Well we don't have a calculation function similar to the checkbox list as you can only select one radio button at a time etc... Basically you can use any javascript though and use $(ShortFieldName), $(ShotFIeldNAme_Field) and $(ShotFieldName_FieldID). One will return the value of the current form which isn't very helpful for radio buttons though as this renders differently then standard HTML Radio Buttons. The other option will render the actual field as an object itself and the 3rd will just render the ID tag for that field.

I did just setup a quick example that can use javascript / client side event to reference the radio button. This function will loop through each radio button item in the radio button list and tell if if that option is checked is false or true. You could probably add some if statements to make use of this function or determine if a specific item is checked and needs to be. You would want to google 'javascript if statements' and review the current javascript file within the module on betasprings.com to tweak it for your needs.

Chad,

I was wondering about this feature.  would it be possible to get the sample script from your sample???  I have an option for billing cycle as radio buttons, based on the users selections shows an additional question with package options (radio buttons).  I need to multiply the first value with the second to calculate the price.

if user selects Quarterly billing, then 3 will be the value, then selects Extended package 40, so billing would be 120 quarterly.

any assitance would be great

thanks

Brad,

Actually you can go and get the script directly, just log into www.betasprings.com (login as host with a password of dnnhost). You can see how its implemented on the field and copy the function calls directly from the 'Initial Javascript'. I will add to the list for future Dynamic Forms demonstrations to include a radio button example with a download IPORTABLE file.
