Hi,

Completely rebuilt my form from scratch and now I can send email with all the parameters again.

Now, I'm trying to get the SQL save working to save the results of the form to my own table.

I have the following sql statement, which works perfectly in Host SQL and in SQL Server management studio, but does not seem to be doing anything in the form completion event. I'm using DF 2.6.

insert into tblConference (UserID, FirstName, LastName, Fees) VALUES ('$(User_ID)', '$(FirstName)', '$(LastName)', '$(Fees)')

To get past problems with integers and passing data from the variables, I set everything to be varchars, except for the UserID.

Nothing, I mean nothing, gets written to the table. I see no error events in DNN, in Windows Event viewer on the server, or anywhere else. How I debug this? Can there not be an error log in DF to troubleshoot this?

Really need help on this one.

Further, the " Only allow form submission once per user" doesn't seem to work. Everytime the user comes in they can register again. I only want them to be able to register once. How do I display results that they have registered already and even display some of the data? I searched the forums and I reviewed documentation but nothing is mentioned of this feature.

Thanks,

Brian

OK. Here I am again. I guess nobody has an answer on the SQL save problem I'm having. I decided to shelve it for now, or at least until it works.

Remember how I said I rebuilt my form yesterday and everything was now working. Well, I should have held my tongue. It was working. Now half the fields are displaying and the other half are not. Strange enough, it's exactly the same fields as the other day even though I wiped the others from the tables, removed the old module and added a new DF module to the page to create my questions/fields within.

The user's also used to be shown the "Display Message after Save Message", and it doesn't do this, but instead puts them back at the registration form I created, with no noticeable errors as to why, except the URL address now has "&def=ErrorMessage" appended to it.

I'm not sure what the "Single Submission Notice" is supposed to do, but it surely doesn't display anytime, ever. I thought that this would be the message displayed to the end user when they tried to revisit the form and fill out the form again, that it would instead say you've already registered, which I have written in the Single Submission message. Oh, by the way, I have checked the " Only allow form submission once per user" checkbox. I even tried unchecking but the form still stays put and doesn't show any of the messages. My email event fires, but as mentioned at the beginning of the message, now half my fields are not displaying, though they were last night before I retired for the evening.

Please HELLLLPPP! This is now live and I have major complaints.

Anybody?!?

Thanks,
Brian

Brian,

Hi. If the display after message is not displaying its probably that the form is not actually processing or going through. Does the form redirect? Do you have any email events that go out? If its not processing it could be an error such as a required field value that is has no required field text, or a issue we recently discovered using CAPTCHA fields with question events. Does this form have any question events or CAPTCHA fields? This might be a good one to open up as a support ticket or email us the info to the site and let us have temporary edit rights to the page/module. Ill review the SQL and SQL Events and can add some debugging if I have admin rights to verify its setup properly or determine the issue. We can then follow back up on this thread to help out other users who might run into this issue.
