Hi. I'm running DNN 4.08.03. I've spent quite a while on this, have read the user guide but think I'm missing something simple.

I want to have a drop down of suburb postcodes. When someone selects 2042 (I'm in Australia), I want a drop down of streets in that suburb to appear. When they select 2012, a different drop down of those streets appears.

I've set up my question events but as soon as I select 'hide field until fired by question event' in the Advanced Settings, the postcode question does not retain the postcode selection (page refreshes but remains on the default) and the street combo box does not appear.

The postcode selection is retained if there is no question event and is also retained if I am trying to hide a question on firing, instead of trying to display.

I've tried a variety of different field types, enabled both client side and server side validation and only the postcode field is marked as required. Currently I have both the postcode field and street fields as combo boxes. Any ideas?

Hi Jessica,

Is your implementation similar to what we set up here:

Demonstrates how to create data-driven, dependent dropdowns using Dynamic Forms

If it's similar, I suggest you copy the settings to see if they will eliminate the errors.

If not, can you set up an example on betasprings.com so we can review what you have (use host and dnnhost as the username and password).

Thanks,

Candace

Have done extensive testing now. It appears that if I have a captcha image field in the form, no question events will work.

How do I get around this? Security is very important but I would love to use question events as well....

Hi.  We've recently become aware that the Captcha somehow interferes with question events that Show/Hide fields.  We're working to resolve this as soon as possible.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  Please let us know if you have additional questions.
