I'm pretty sure I have this setup correctly.  I have a form setup with 2 radio button items.  I've set the debug=true in the Paypal form to review the output.  For "&item_name=" I have $(RadioButtonName_Text) and for "&amount" I have $(RadioButtonName).  From the debug output I can see that $(RadioButtonName) brings forward the numeric value that I have set for that radio button.  However, $(RadioButtonName_Text) just shows the token name -- I believe it is supposed to be replaced by the Text name of the radio button that was selected.  Hopefuly I'm wrong in this.  Please confirm? And is there a workaround? -- Thanks.

Hi Shawn,

We'd like to research where the issue is coming from.  Can you please set up a sample of your  form in betasprings.com?  Use host/dnnhost to log in and add your page under dynamic forms.  Then please let us know your page name so we can look into this, ok?  Thanks!

Done.  The form name is called "RadioButtonName_Text".  I tested it out on betasprings as well -- works the same as on my system.  Same error or problem configuration; hopefully you can tell me which.

Thanks.

Hi guys... thanks, I just confirmed that the _Text option for fields that utilize option/values is currently only available for Dynamic Email Events and/or Dynamic SQL Events. We will be adding this feature in a future release. We just released the 2.6.51 patch and unfortunatly this did not make it, however it should be there for the next minor or major release.

Is this fixed yet?  I really need this feature -- my Paypal forms are worthless without it.  --Thanks.

Shawn,

Hi. I believe this has been added to the 2.7 release, you can test this within the beta on www.betasprings.com (login as host/dnnhost). We added additional code to also check for Combo Box, Radio Button, Listbox, and Check Box Lists for the _Text property, previously this only existed for Email Events and SQL events. You might test this and let us know if this is working as you need it for the final release.

It kinda works. Maybe I have it set wrong. I set the debug=true as before, but the output appears to be wrong. It repeats everything that goes to paypal in the debug string many many times. That can't be good. And, I didn't get redirected to the Paypal sandbox on submit even through I was logged in. Also, I imported my form into this new version and not all of the form made it, nor the form submission events, question events, or the paypal configuration. The form name is questionnaire. When will this version be ready to ship?  I really need to be able to capture the text of the item being selected in the form so I know what was purchased.

Is there a  workaround you can recommend?

Shawn,

Hi. A few things.

1. When the debug mode is turned on, it might appear that its sending that info twice but you should look closely as more than likely it just appears that way. For example, it has to send many items to PayPal that might appear similar, for example the Cancel URL if the user clicks cancel, the Sucess url after completion, the notification URL that PayPal will be using for IPN responses etc... These URL's are very similar to each other.
2. When DEBUG mode is turned on, the information is never redirected to PayPal. If it was, you wouldn't be able to see what the post was like. So, just keep this in mind that when debug mode is turned on you will never be redirected etc...

3. We are still testing the 2.7 release and do not have an exact release date yet. We are pushing for the end of the month or early Sept (1st week)

4. There is a work around you can do, involving client side or question events. Basically you would have to setup a hidden field to keep track of the 'text' for the option, then use client side event or question event to set the value of that hidden field. Similar to setting a calculation for a hidden field, but instead of a calculation you would be setting the value of the text that it should be.
