I have a form where users sign up for a service.  Form has a price $(Price) That is pulled from the database depending which service has been selected.  Everything works great

Moving forward I want to provide discounts on the price depending on a "discount Code" that the users input. (I have a salesforce that will be distributed codes, setup by me, to track their sales, which in turn give the users a discount... codes like. X4PL9....4TFR0...All codes will be recorded by me so that we can track who sells what).

Is there a way that I can do this using DF?

If so an explanation or an example would be great.

Hi Hazen,

Yes, you can do this with DF with 2 options:

1.  Use a page redirect to another form based on the discount code entered. or

2.  Set up client side calculation events per promo code.

Option 1 might seem more elaborate since you'll have to set up a form for each discount code.  However, the problem with Option 2 is that someone who is tech-savvy can click on 'view source' and potentially use the code inappropriately.

Thanks.

Can you suggest an example of how to setup #2. Or a forum post that describes how to do this?

Thanks

http://www.betasprings.com/DynamicForms/calc4/tabid/223/Default.aspx

Found a Beta Springs form that does something similar to what I want.  Is the functionality there to enter a code in a textbox, tab out of the box, and have the same thing happen.  I.e. instead of clicking a the checkbox.  A textbox is used.

Hi Hazen,

I was in the process of setting up a test form on betasprings but please feel free to take over and show us what you'd like on your form.  Then we can just figure out the calculation you'll need for the client-side event.
