If PayPal is enabled, is it possible to have a form completion event fire before the the user is directed to PayPal?  In my form my users are registering for events and most of the events have a fee however some of the events are free.  I would like to have all events in one dropdown list and if a user selects a event that is free I would still like them to complete the form data but instead of getting passed to paypal once they click submit I would like to redirect them to a "thank you for registering" page.

Troy,

Hi. Unfortunately no... however there is a solution (at least on its way), within the 2.7 beta there is a feature where you can name a short field name 'EnablePGateway') and if this is set to the value to False (either from a question event or client side event) and then even if the payment gateway is enabled it will skip the payment gateway. With this feature it will to process completion events as if there is no payment gateway. Because of this you would need to setup your other completion events to only process if maybe that field was set to true or something so that it would only fire for the payment gateway (instead of setting to 'Any Field Response').

We are installing the Beta of 2.7 to BetaSprings.com tonight (literally) so you might want to test this feature to see if its going to work as you would want it too.

Chad,

I created a test page on betasprings (EnablePGateway) and it works exactly like you said.  Do you have a release date in mind for 2.7?

Thanks!

Troy

Hi,

Yes this will be a very useful feature. You will also be able to name a short field name 'PGateway' and if you do this you will be able to set the payment gateway via a short field name as well. This will be useful for implementations where you might want to let the user choose between Authorizenet or PayPal, (or Google Checkout whenever this is added).

Dynamic Forms 2.7 should be released by the end of the month, the module is just pending some additional testing and primarily documentation updates. Aleksandar is starting on the documentation around the 15th and should be finished within two weeks.

All customers who have purchased 2.6 within the last 45 days will receive a free upgrade, purchase dates beyond 45 days will be given 70% off the purchase price.
