My Required Field Error for my combobox does not appear if the user doesn't make a selection from the first option. it is set to required and server side validation is on. An asterisk appears to show an error but my custom message does not appear. any ideas?

Hi Bryan,

Can you set up a demo of the issue on www.betasprings.com so we can review this?  (Pls. use host / dnnhost to log in.)  Just let us know your page when it's ready, ok?

Other questions:

1.  Do other error messages show correctly?

2.  When you go to Module config, Validation Configuration, would you happen to have the 'hide validation summary' checked?

Thanks,
Candace

My apologies, Bryan, but I can't find your page under Dynamic Forms.  Can you please post a link to your Betaspring page?

Thanks,

Candace

Hi Bryan,

You were right in having server-side validation on.  The trick is that server-side validation only looks for 'Required Field Text' and not the Required Field Error.  Check out your Bryan Combobox now and see the error message.

You might also check out the Required Checkbox and Dropdown for other tips.

Thanks for your question,

Candace
