Is it possible to add an if statement in the Payment Gateway/Calculation Total (optional) section?  I have given up trying to display the correct total to the user before they submit the form and I have turned to something like the following but I don't know if it is supported or if I am just using the wrong syntax????

If ($(TFee) == 16.00)
    $(TFee)
else  $(TFee) + $(TFee2)

I would be shocked if I have the syntax correct because I don't know anything about javascript!  Also....if this is possilbe $(TFee2) is sometimes bypassed...meaning it is only displayed based on a question event so I guess I would have to take that into consideration as well.

Thanks

Chad

Hi.

Well actually the $(Calc_TotalField) can only be used to calculate fields and cannot include if statements (or any javascript at all actually). If you wanted to use this feature you would first need to use features such as question events to set default values or possibly client side events to set values. Javascript can accept if statements and you can also use these events to set properties.

Also... Although we don't provide direct support for javascript / client side events there are a few options.

* We do post several calculations and how to's int he demonstrations on our site

* There are many different types of calculations and examples on Beta Springs

* We suggest you download and use FireBug for FireFox. This can provide you a command line and error notices for your javascript (to help debug). Keep in mind that JavaScript is VERY specific so even using a capital I in an if statement instead of a lowercase i could make a big difference.

* We do provide Premium Support Hours for client side events if you need something sooner and don't wish to code it yourself. You can find out more details and purchase premium support hours at http://www.datasprings.com/ProductSupport

Hope this helps!
