I have created an example of my problem on betasprings here:

http://www.betasprings.com/DynamicForms/test99/tabid/358/language/en-US/Default.aspx

I am looking for a way to always have a total...

If fee1 has a value AND OptionalFee = No then I want the total to be fee1....

If fee1 has a value AND OptionalFee = Yes then I want the total to be fee1 +  fee2.

The problem I am having is when fee2 is not visible fee1 is not displaying in the total textbox.

Thanks

Chad

Troy,

Hi. Yes the only way around this would be to add some error handling in the javascript (if that field does not exist set the value to 0 for option 2) Or... you could use a 'Hidden' field type, this way the field is always there. Then instead of setting the Total field, you would simply set the hidden field value First... Then after setting the hidden field value you can set the total field below it. This way whenever option two does not exist the field total will always be based on the hidden field value and not the field that is no longer being rendered to the form.

Right now you are basically say... 'Calculate this field that does not exists on the form' and its going to error out.

Chad,

Thanks as usual!  I used a hidden field to resolve my issue.
