Wow, I figured the CAPTCHA would be the easiest to add to my form - especially since I am using the standard DNN control.

I have read all the threads with the word CAPTCHA in them.  So far the only fix I have found is to forget about CAPTCHA.  I must admit, with all the time I've spend on this, I am now wondering if it is really needed

Ok, same problme as everyone else.  My captcha does validate, but I get Three lines of error messages when the user hits submit without filling it in.

I get the the same massage in red on the top and bottom of the edit field.  I also get the same message with a * in front of it a bit further down.

I have tried everything in these threads about what text to put where, remove text from here, make sure both client side and server side validation is set, etc... but I still can't get it to work without cluttering up the screen when the validation runs.

A side note.  If I submit the form while my other required fields are not filled in, it works perfectly - displaying one error message exactly where I want it.

Thoughts?

Scott,

Hi. Well the only way to keep it 'consistent' as far as validation right now is to only use Server Side Validation. So you can go to Module Configuration, Validation Configuration, and disable client side validation. We really don't have a lot of control over this CAPTCHA field as its the standard DNN CAPTCHA web control and not something directly we control the code for.

So....

Not sure what version you are running, but if you are on the latest 2.6 you should be able to setup the CAPTCHA field and choose to use the Advanced Captcha Field instead of the Standard. You then get a lot more options (like 30+) and including other features such as the ability to have the refresh icon, or sound icon so that it speaks the code etc...

You can demo this on our registration page, if you click on Register or check out Dynamic  Forms Demonstration w/ Advanced CAPTCHA field

Thanks,

Chad
