Is there a way to customize the layout of the login module?  For example, I want to have the layout horizontally under my menu, all on one row.

I think this would be a feature request.  It seems like something that might be a good add on....

I don't know, just a thought.

Chris,

Thanks for the tip. With this module it wouldn't be too difficult to just modify the login.ascx file directly but we will add it to the list for review for future enhancements. If you need something soon you might actually check out the dynamiclogin.ascx file since you should be able to change the layout there. The only downside here is that it would change it for every portal and not by portal. Hmmmmm... Good idea.

Chad have you thought more about making this module with a template?

It would be nice to have all fields in a row, change length of form fields.  I have noticed that www.dotnetnuke.com has changed their login module.

I know this can be done in the ascx, but I want to be able to change it differently for each customer.

Chris,

Hi. Yes we are working on this. We should have this feature enabled in the next version of Dynamic Login.

I have the v2.2 and wanted to create a template that was horizontal. I want to stick that in the top right corner to replace the search box.. Any ideas on how to do this?

Hi. Well with Dynamic Login you could make the template as small (or modify the look of it) as much as possible) however to 'place' the module there you would need to customize the skin / container for your portal. To do this you would need to replace within the skin.ascx file (where the search area is) and replace it with a content pane. If this is a custom skin you might consider having the developer customize the skin to have a content pane. This way you could move the module to something like 'Upper Content Right' or 'Banner Header Right' etc...

I had another question, is there a way to make the 'login' a button but have the 'register' and 'forgot password' as links? I was also wondering how to format the User Name label and 'Password' label so that the text is smaller?

Well doh, i figured out one workaround to combining links and buttons.

I just insert a textmodule below the login module. I line up the the relevant 'register' and 'forgot password' links .

The links have the javascript:__doPostBack(...) corresponding to the links in the regular DNN login module.

hmm well the above workaround, not quite perfect. the text/html module seems to render above the login module even though it's below.
