I also would like this to work under 4.5.3, so I came up with a simple work around until DynamicLogin supports this feature directly.
To implement this, you will need access to the web server to modify a specific DL file "DynamicLogin.ascx".
Essentially, I did 2 things:
1) In "DynamicLogin.ascx" modify the string:
From: resourcekey="cmdSendPassword" Width="140"
To: resourcekey="cmdSendPassword" Width="0"
Setting the Width="0" effectively hides and deactivates the built-in DL button for password reminders.
2) Add a Text/HTML module below the DL module, with a single HTML link which takes the user to the built-in DNN password reminder page.
The trick here is to access this page one time from the built-in DNN login module so you can capture the correct URL for your site and use it in the link created in the Text/HTML module.
I also hid the container on the Text/HTML, which makes the setup look a little cleaner.
