When a new user registers using the Dynamic Registration module and a completion event has been established to send an email to include the VerificationCodeLink, this link (when used with the standard DNN login module) presents the login panel along with a pre-populated verification text box.  However, when using the Dynamic Login module this verification text box does not appear.  I noticed that both the ASCX and the source code contain rowVerficiation1 and txtVerification.  Is issue being addressed in the next release of Dynamic Login?

Thanks

Chad

Hmmm, I just checked the code and it does appear that this isn't working as it should. Very interesting. We have a newer release that supports DotNetnuke Role Group redirection which should be released by early-mid Sept. Ill make sure this gets tested before its release, thanks for the heads up.

Has this issue been resolved as I'm not seeing the verification code either when i click the verification link from an email. Running V2.2.1 and DNN 4.5.5.

Verification is turned on in the site settings and works fine for the standard account login.

The template being used is the default one and contains the correct tokens.

Thanks
Adam

Ok, i think this was a bug with DNN resolved in DNN 4.7 - DNN-6541- Default reg. email verification link broken if "Login Page" is chosen in Site Settings

If you create a separate login page and use the default DNN account login module then click the verification link from an email no verification text box displays.

Hi,

I'm still seeing this problem.

I send verifcation code and link in an email with Dynamic Registration.

The email gets sent and the link works with a prepopulated verification id, but a user can bypass that by clicking directly on login (which is set to Dynamic Login) and login without the verification code.

DNN 4.8.03 and Dynamic Login 2.20.10

Thanks,

Andrew

What happens in this case... If they click on 'Login' are they prompted for the verification code (after first attempting to sign in?). If they are prompted does the verification code not work? The point is to only ask for the verification code one time and there is no 'auto' way to bypass it the first time, only pre-fill it from the URL/link.

Here's the sequence.
1) Register - email is sent with verification code
2) click login for first time, login prompt comes up without verification field, user can use username and password to login for first time
or
1) Register - email is sent with verification code
2) user clicks link in email
3) user taken to login screen from the email link and verification code is pre-populated and login works properly

So users can bypass verification if they click login (which is Dynamic login) on site directly without using the verification link from the email.

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi... That is odd, we will do some testing over here. Can you tell me though, is your site set to 'Verified' for user registration? If you go to Admin, Site Settings, Advanced, User Registration... Is this set to Public, Verified, Private or what?

Hi Chad,

User registration is set to Verified.

We areusing dnn 4.8.03, and the login page is set to a page that has Dynamic Login on it.

Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Chad asked me to test this for you. It worked for me when I tested on betasprings.com using Dyn Login 2.20.10 and DNN 4.8.3. The first time a user clicks on Login, it will go to the normal login page with just the username & pword fields. After filling in the fields and hitting enter, the system identifies that this user needs verification. It then does a post back, this time with the verification field present. Therefore, the user is not able to bypass the verification. Is your test behaving differently?
