When I migrated my DNN site from development to an Integration site, the Dynamic login appears to stop working (It has a new url and db) correctly.

I've got 3 role-based login rules. If the user is one of these it reports an error and the page doesn't load. However, when I hit "back", it does take me back to the main page and the user is logged in correctly and pages they can see are available (and the ones they shouldn't see aren't).

It looks like there's an error with the redirect (like it kept the development url or something).

The migration process was:

  1. backup and restore the dev db to the Integration db server
  2. copy the web app to the new web server
  3. update the web config to point to the new db
  4. fix some of the broken links in the site

not sure what other people do for their code migration process, but I'd be interested to hear if this is a naive approach or if there's a better one..

For my Dynamic Login, do I need to update a setting in one of the tables in the DB?

Cheers,

Matt

Matt,

There really shouldn't be any changes during migration, so... Same PortalID, same TabID's and everything? If its only a 3 role configuration you might consider an uninstall/reinstall but to be honest I don't see anything in the database that would make a difference. You are sure the files were copied over correctly? What is the exact error you are getting. The fact that the page doesn't load at all makes me think its a file missing from either desktopmodules\Dynamic Login directory or the dynamic login dll in the bin directory.
