I'm testing Dynamic Login in a pre-production environment: users that would have been blocked by the "core" authentication module now can login even without filling the mandatory fields in their profile...

Users are created by administrators (no public registration) and we're asking them to complete their profile upon first login. Am I missing something in the user manual? Does Dynamic Login offer such a functionality? If not, does a workaround exist?

Hi. We have been researching this over the last few days and although we hope to provide this in a future update or version, this is not currently a feature the module offers. Some of this is built into the core code and we are researching what will need to be done to add this same logic to Dynamic Login, or if another solution would be more appropriate (such as forcing them optionally to a Dynamic Registration module page as many users don't want to force them to the core profile properties). So... Currently you cannot use Dynamic Login module to fit the same purpose for as the standard login when you enable the 'Force valid profile for login'.

A work around? You should be able to easily create a work around by creating a security role called 'Valid Profile'. Then, since you can redirect to different pages based on a security role (and have priority over others) you can always redirect users who don't have the security role 'Valid Profile' to a page such as Dynamic Registration, and then when Dynamic Registration is then processed have that role removed from the user. This way when they sign in the next time they will not be redirected to that page. This would require Dynamic Registration as well though and it would also require you to setup Dynamic Role Event rules within Dynamic Login. We will keep this on our radar for future patches and updates.

Thanks,

-Chad

We also need this feature.  Do you have an update for when you expect to have it incorporated into Dynamic Login?

BTW, we have attempted to use your work around, but there is not a "remove" profile option in Dynamic Registration.

While firing off the SQL Event will work, it seems that as robust as your system is, it should include this as a default.

Cheers,

Grant

Are you guys working on this? I will buy this module if you include this feature. Redirect the user to the registration page to complete his profile and if he has a complete valid profile redirect him to any desired page.

I also need this functionality. Setting up a work-around with Dymamic Registration isn't quite as straight-forward as it would seem. For example, how do we force someone to complete the form if they just click to another page on the site? One way would be to use the form itself to create the membership role; but for renewing members who are already in the membership role, this won't really work. I'm still diagramming how we might make this work, but it sure would be great to not have to re-invent the wheel.

On the plus side, though, using Dynamic Registration does provide opportunities for better design of the user information form, as well as the possibility of firing off some nice confirming email messages. So maybe this is a blessing in disguise!
