Hey guys. In my Dynamic Login settings (v 2.2), I have the option to "redirect the user to the previous URL" checked. However, no matter where I am on my site, when I login, I go to my homepage every time. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Thanks!

Kevin - When you go to Host, Module Definitions, what specific version does it show you are running on? There was a quick fix for this shortly after release I believe. -Chad |

Hi,
I am running version 02.20.10 on DNN 4.8.4 and getting the same issue. Is there a patch available or update?
Regards,
Max. |

Max, I think one thing we found out is that you need to make sure you have something specified for the 'default redirect URL'. If nothing is specified it will bypass this setting and redirect to the home page. -Chad |

Hi Chad, Thanks for the update, we are unable to hardcode a URL as the user needs to stay on the same page once they have logged in. Example (users must login to see a forum embedded on the same page but only viewable once logged in) This is why the login is also on the same page. Once Logged in or Registered, the user should be redirected to that same page (which can be different depending on where the user is trying to go) and this is why we can’t hard code a URL for a page. Can you help, thanks. |

Max, Hi. Yes if the feature is turned on to 'Redirect user to previous URL' then it will ignore the static redirect URL, however... you still have to specify the static redirect URL otherwise the module is throwing an error and redirect to the home page instead of the previous URL. Hope that makes sense Basically just make sure you have a static 'default url', and make sure you have the feature turned on the redirect to the previous URL. -Chad |

I have Dynamic Login on every page. When a user logs in they are automatically sent to the Home page.
I have followed the instructions form the previous post but it still sends every successful login to the Home page and not to the page they are Logging in from.
Is there a fix for this ?

Usheen, Hi. When you go to Host, Module Definitions, what specific version of Dynamic Login does it show you are running on? 2. Just to confirm, when you go to Settings, did you specify a value for 'Default redirection page'? If no page is setup there it will not redirect properly when the redirect to Previous URL is turned on. -Chad |

Hi. There is a small update as the latest version is 2.2.20, please open a support ticket and we can get you the updated release. We will also update where you downloaded the module / purchase so other users shouldn't run into this problem. -Chad |

Hi, I just wanted to follow up on this thread. We will modify or offer this feature later but basically what this user was wanting to do was to not use the module when clicking 'Login' but actually include the login module on every page throughout the site. When this was implemented it actually needs to redirect to the 'same' TabID/Page that the module is on and not the previous URL (because they never leave the page). We will plan to offer this in the future, either the ability to navigate to the 'Same TabID' or make it part of the previous URL feature if we can. -Chad |
