I have set up the latest version of optin email and set up some extended fields, but when I set an extended field to be a checkbox and set it to be required, it doesn't work. It still lets me submit the form without the checkbox being checked... Please can you help?

Also, how can I get the asterisks to always show by all fields that are required? At the moment they only appear once you hit submit and haven't completed one of the required fields (except for my checkbox of course!)

Cheers!

Hi Jodie,

I was able to duplicate this over at our test site, www.betasprings.com, on this page:

http://betasprings.com/OptInEmail/OptInEmail40/tabid/439/language/en-US/Default.aspx

Will report this to the dev team for review.  Thanks!

Hi guys... Yes, this is correct. Currently Opt In Email only allows for ASP.NET client side validation routines which currently doesn't support the checkbox field type. We are reviewing this for future updates and if we don't add an additional validation option we will disable this feature except for textbox field types.

Also.. Another alternative if you need more extended features is to use Dynamic Forms for the actual and initial Opt In Email subscription. This has many additional field types and options (endless) and we have many customers using it to create more powerful and robust user-facing initial Opt In Email subscriptions and sign ups. You can find out how the integration option works here:

Thanks!
