I configured a completion event, event type dynamic email. I filed Mail to field with a fixed email (ie. mollo1@caedis.com) and I specified Dynamic field as any field response. The result is none mail is sent and I can only view it in View result.

Can anyone help me anyway? Thanks in advance.

Hi, did you get this working? Does your email work on the main DotNetNuke site? You need to make sure you configure your email settings under Host, SMTP Settings.

I'm having the same problem as well. New installation on DNN 4.5.5 and no mater what I try, it will not send e-mail out. I've even tried reinstalling Dynamic Forms.

I have verified that I am able to send e-mail from other DNN modules just fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Does the form redirect? Do you use SSL for your email?

I am having this problem too. My SMTP settings are correct because emails DO get sent with other modules and after users register, etc.

No errors or redirections are noted after the form is submitted, everything works fine with regards to that. What I did see was an error in the Event Viewer:

InnerException: The server rejected the sender address. The server response was: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first 10sm8796464wrl

I too am using DNN 4.5.5, and Dynanic Forms 02.30.50

James,

Hi. Yes we have discovered a bug related to the email function calls and emails that use GMAIL or SSL. I 'believe' we have corrected this in an upcoming patch we have not yet released of 2.3.7. I just sent this to you, can you let me know if your emails are not working correctly? If so ill put the patch up for everyone on Snowcovered.

Hi,

I have the same problem on DNN 4.5.5. SMTP configuration in Host tested OK. Same goes for other functions e.g. Portal User Registration, Feedback module etc.

Event Viewer
System.Web.HttpException: The transport failed to connect to the server. ---> System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

FYI, my SMTP is not using the standard port 25.

Thanks.

Best Regards.

Hi,
i've install Dynamics Form 2.3 in DNN 4.8.4. I've configured email smtp in host. I send email with newsletter but with Dynamics Form no. I've configured a Form event: email. When submit the form after 6/7 seconds redirect to a my page where say all go fine. But the e-mail doesn't arrive. In dnn log there isn't a error. Where can download the upgrade to 2.3.7? This upgrade solve the problems with email send?

Thanks,

Giuseppe

I'm having this problem as well. I have version 02.70.40 installed on a DNN 4.9 site. I'm not using Gmail or SSL. The smtp in DNN is set up as localhost:25, which works fine for everything else. I sure hope you have a fix for this, since I really need some of the functions in this system for this site.

Alice,

Can you go to Admin, Newsletters, and successfully send yourself an email there? IF you can send yourself an email there successfully within the main DNN Core (this is always a good test area as it has a from / reply email and so forth) then you should be able to also send emails in Dynamic Forms. Dynamic Forms uses the exact same function calls as the core to send out email messages so it should work if its working in the areas of DNN such as under Admin, Newsletters. Sometimes test are not the same when clicking 'test' we have found as this might be trying to send a message from 'yourname@yourdomain.com' for but that doesn't mean the reply from email can be setup or the email to might be 'yourname@someotherdomain.com' which the email settings might not support etc...

Hi Chad,

Thanks for the reply.

Sending from Newsletters works fine. Sending a test from smtp configuration works fine. A basic DNN feedback form works fine.

I'm probably doing something stupid, but I sure don't know what. Is there someplace in the form setup that I need to specify a recipient? I couldn't find that, so I assumed it would send to the main admin email address. I looked around through the help facility before trying the forums. Trying here, just not suceeding!

Yes, it's working now. Sorry I didn't post back here, but things have been nuts. I gave admin access to one of your people, and he was able to send through it. I'm still not really sure what the problem was, but it's working for me too now.
