When testing the required fields functionality on my registration form I noticed that I didn't receive the "Required Field Error" text  to the right of the following filed types: radio buttons, combo boxes, and a "Country" drop-down list.

Note, I have both client and server side validation checked/turned on under "General Settings"...and I am using Dynamic Registration V3.0.

Thanks.

Hi. Well unfortunatly some field types require / process validation differently than others. The client side validators (ASP.NET VAlidation Controls) cannot be setup to validate for custom fields types such as date or DNN Country/Region etc... This applies to radio buttons, combo box's and these custom properties. I believe future versions in the most recent frameworks will but these have not been added to the application yet.

So... Client side validation controls will add error text or an * next to the specific field (or whatever you set the error too) but server side validation controls will only be added to the validation summary messages (on top or bottom of form). We are working on future validation controls and features (such as where to add the *, next to the field as it is now, on top or bottom of field, etc...). Also, another option might be to use HTML in the field label or in the example text to automatically show an image or a red * etc.. The best way to do this is to go to a text/html header (such as question header or footer) and create a red * then click on 'Source' within the editor and copy the source into the field label (or if all fields are required the field suffix setting in general settings) or each fields example text. I would remove any < p > tags or < / p> tags and just show the < font size... color...etc... These are just some additional options you can do if you want to show a red * or maybe an image button that shows that the field is required on the screen.
