Hi. My business is new to Sharepoint and we are not pros.

We have a webbased account, 2007 version, and have been trying to upload Quickbook files to our site (QWB file extensions.) So far, we either get an "unknown error" message or the server times out.

Our webhost has extended the timeout period to 5 minutes, but this still doesn't seem quite long enough. The file is 18.5MG.

We CAN upload it as a largish zip file, but would prefer not to do this as the goal is to get the file to my less than tech-friendly father, owner of the business ...  To get him to use the system, we need to have as few steps as possible.

Any ideas? Thanks, Bonnie

Hi. A few things. First can you upload an 18.5MG ZIP file? Could you upload a 2MB QWB file? Its possible its related to the filename/type directly and maybe not even the file size. If so, I believe within MOSS Shared Services there is a list of file types that are not allowed. You might also check the operations tab, you should be able to set a file upload size there and I am not sure this is related to the the timeout etc...

Anyway, here is another post that might help:
http://blogs.msdn.com/joelo/archive/2007/06/27/file-name-length-size-and-invalid-character-restrictions-and-recommendations.aspx

This discusses the block file types and file upload default (Which should be 50) in more detail.
